About Cardiff

Cathays
Cathays sits north of Cardiff University and offers a huge number of terraced houses perfect for the student rental market. It’s proximity to the university makes quick work of the commute but it also caters nicely to those looking for a good night out with a number of pubs and bars in the immediate area - not to mention the students’ union.
Roath
Roath is northeast of the city centre but still offers accessibility to the universities. Perhaps catering more for students looking for a slightly quieter year. The area is known in particular for Roath park with its lake and wild space that offers a nice retreat from city living. The area also has all the amenities you would expect as well as being only a short trip to the universities and the city centre.
Heath
Heath is slightly further out of town than some areas but is well positioned for the Heath Park Campus. - so those studying here will find the Heath area particularly convenient. The area boasts Heath Park which is large enough to house a miniature golf course, miniature railway, football pitches and a lot of green space for you to explore. The area is still close enough to the city centre for you to enjoy.
Adamsdown
Not often seen as the most student-centric area, there is still good reason for students to enjoy their time in Adamsdown. Close to the Cardiff University Engineering and Computer Sciences departments the area is within walking distance of central Cardiff and all the transport links, shopping, entertainment and general amenities this this has to offer.
Cardiff Bay
Once known as Tiger bay, the Cardiff Bay area has a very interesting history. The area has undergone a wholesale regeneration in more recent years with the area now offering modern living and shiny new builds. Perhaps a bit too modern and pricey for the average student the area may suit some more than others.
