About Loughborough

Sitting in the north of Leicestershire, almost right in between Nottingham and Leicester is the university town of Loughborough. Home to around 60,000 people, and around 20,000 students, the town certainly has a thriving student population.

The town itself is pleasant with medieval roots and a strong industrial history. Perhaps not known for the wildest nightlife, the town still offers a number of popular student pubs and bars. The town houses a number of museums and beautiful outdoor spaces such as the outwoods nature reserve and Queen’s park.

Park Road Area

A short walk from the university and south of the town centre is Park Road. Great shopping and takeaway options are available and easy access to anywhere else in town via regular bus routes. The town centre is also just a short walk away so you’ll have plenty to explore.

William Street Area

Just west of the town centre and only a ten minutes walk from the university is the William Street area. All the amenities you could require are on your doorstep including several supermarkets as well as Queen’s Park. The area is home to a sizeable student population due to its location between the town centre and the university.
