Opt to live in Quay Point (previously known as Liberty Quay) and you’ll have a choice of en-suite rooms, giving you your very own bathroom. In addition to this, rooms come with a comfortable bed, study desk and plenty of storage. As you’ll be sharing a fully-fitted kitchen and living space with your flatmates, mealtimes offer a great chance to socialise.

Away from your flat, there’s plenty of space to relax and socialise with your friends. The common room has comfortable seating, a TV area and foosball, while an outdoor courtyard and BBQ area gives you space to venture outdoors if the sun is shining. Feeling active? Our on-site gym is waiting whenever you want to work up a sweat.

Being so close to the city centre, you’ll have no shortage of options when you’ve got time to spare. There are hundreds of shops, pubs and restaurants, while several multi-screen cinemas are perfectly placed for a few hours of light entertainment. Head to the Quayside on sunny days and you’ll be able to enjoy a beautiful walk along the River Tyne.

The Quayside is an area set along the River Tyne, home to Newcastle’s iconic Millennium Bridge, just 5 minutes’ walk from Quay Point. Some favourites to visit include; Pitcher and Piano, Slug and Lettuce, The Quayside, and the Baltic Café Bar (with fantastic views across the water).

If you want to learn about the history of Newcastle, The Discovery Museum is worth a visit –25 minutes’ walk from Quay Point. For fans of professional sport, Newcastle is well-known for its football club; Newcastle United. Their stadium is St James’ Park; in itself a hugely visual presence within the city and under 30 minutes’ walk from Quay Point. Fans of Cricket will relish in the fact that Durham County Cricket Club is a 20 minute train journey away; the club hosts England International matches.

The Newcastle Eagles are the most successful British Basketball team in BBL and play their games at Northumbria University – 5 minutes from Quay Point.

Quay Point is located on Stepney Lane, a short 5 minute walk from the city centre of Newcastle and Northumbria University campus. The residence is ideally located so that you can make the most out of your time here.

Newcastle’s main train station is 5 minutes’ walk away and provides a quick link to other cities around the UK in all less than 3 hours, including London, Leeds, Scotland, and Manchester.  Additionally Newcastle has its own Metro train system, connecting the city centre with Jesmond, Gateshead, Sunderland and the coast in just under 30 minutes. The nearest Metro station to Quay Point is Manors Station – 5 minutes’ walk away. For those who live outside of the UK, Newcastle International Airport is 6 miles north of the city and can be reached by the Metro as well. 

As well as the Metro system and Central train station there are two bus stations offering cheap fares across the city. If you are feeling really adventurous, catch one of the daily ferries from the International Ferry Terminal at North Shields to Amsterdam.

For an even bigger range of choice, there is a larger Morrison’s within 5 minutes walking distance from Quay Point. Alternatively, there is a larger Asda in Byker Retail Park, a short taxi ride away.
